The Sony Nex C3 is a Compact System Camera. That means it has a lot of similarities with a Digital SLR, but with a smaller body.
Features include 16 megapixels and a 3 inch LCD screen. To help you when you find yourself in a tricky shooting position the LCD screen can be tilted away from the body.
Sony have equipped the Nex C3 with a 25 point Auto Focus system. It is also capable of shooting High Definition movies (720p resolution). Manual exposure settings (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority) give you plenty of scope for creative photography. When you need to capture fast moving action there is a burst mode that allows you to fire off photos at a rate of 5.5 frames per second.
Other features include the ability to create 3D sweep panoramas. In addition there is a special mode to help you maximise detail levels in shots where there are both dark and light areas. There is also a twilight mode that merges images together to minimise noise and improve overall picture quality.
The Nex C3 has an E mount. This means that the camera is compatible with Sony’s range of E lenses. At the time the Nex C3 was released the range of E lenses is fairly limited. A lens adapter is available that you can use to attach the Nex C3 to the much wider range of Sony A mount lenses, as well as other lenses form Konica Minolta.
To keep the Nex C3 as compact as possible the flash unit can be detached from the body when not in use.
