The Sony Nex-7 is a 24 megapixel compact system camera. It provides you with similar functionality to that you are likely to find on a Digital SLR, but in a much smaller body. You can change lenses so that you always have the ideal choice of lens for the type of photo you are about to take. You also have access to a wide range of advanced features such as Fully Manual, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority exposure controls.
The Nex-7 has a high standard build quality. Sony have opted for a magnesium based body. The Nex-7 is also one of the few compact system cameras to offer a viewfinder as well as the LCD screen. The screen is 3 inches in size and tilts at an angle away from the body for when you find yourself in an uncomfortable shooting position. There is also an accessory shoe available for when you want to add an external flash unit.
Other features include a burst mode capable of shooting at up to 10 frames per second for capturing high speed action. You can also use the sweep panorama mode for a quick and easy way to create panoramic photos. This feature also has a 3D feature for playback on 3D televisions.
Sony have also equipped the Nex-7 with a very advanced movie mode. It is capable of shooting Full High Definition movies. AF tracking and manual exposure controls are available for movies as well as for still images. Movie sound can be recorded in stereo.
