The Sony Nex-5n is a compact system camera. This type of camera has a set of features similar to a Digital SLR and can also accept different lenses. The difference is this type of camera has a smaller body size than a Digital SLR.

The Nex-5n has 16 megapixels and can capture images at a top speed of 10 frames per second. It has a set of manual exposure controls to give you extra creative control over how your photos will look. Focus options are built around a 25 point Auto Focus system.

For composing photos the Nex-5n has a 3 inch LCD screen. The screen is touch sensitive with all settings being changed by touching the screen.

Other features include a Handheld Twilight mode. This mode uses technology developed by Sony that merges six images together to reduce noise and blur for photos taken in lowlight. A similar technique is used to merge three images into one to bring out extra detail in light and dark areas of scenes with high contrast when you use the High Dynamic Range mode.

If you need a little help along the way, Sony have added hints and tips section to the menu system.

Sony have included an advanced movie mode. The Nex-5n is capable of shooting Full High Definition movies with stereo sound.
