The Sony DSC W210 is a straightforward, compact digital camera. This part of the Sony range is small enough to slip into a pocket and are cheaper than their more upmarket T range of digital cameras.

The DSC W210 is one of the more basic models in this group. Even so it has plenty of megapixels (12) and a 4x optical zoom lens. This is a shade longer than the most basic cameras have.

Sony has included a 2.7 inch LCD screen. This is fast becoming the standard screen size as of early 2009. Other features include a smile shutter for firing off a photo when the DSC W210 detects someone is smiling; face detection and a red eye correction function.

There is also intelligent scene recognition. This helps the camera to select optimum settings in tricky shooting conditions.

The DSC W210 runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery. This is supplied with the camera together with a charger. The camera is available in silver, pink and green.
