The Sony Cybershot DSC TX9 slips easily into a pocket and offers extra features when compared to other digital cameras of a similar size. It is well under 20mm wide making it one of the most compact digital cameras you can find. It has a very stylish design with a sliding lens cover. You can buy the Cybershot DSC TX9 in dark grey, red and gold.

Standard features include 12 megapixels and a 4x wide angle lens. A big attraction is likely to be the fact that settings are changed through a touch controlled LCD screen. The screen is 3.5 inches in size. This is impressive as the size of the screen can make a big difference to how easy it is to change settings.

Sony have included features that are rare on this type of camera. For a start there is a special defocus setting. This throws the background of a photo out of focus to make the main subject stand out more. This a technique you often see used with photographs of flowers, wildlife and portraits.

Other settings keep noise levels down in lower light and increase the dynamic range of a photo. By increasing the dynamic range you should be able to see extra detail in lighter and darker areas of the scene.

Anther feature the Cybershot DSC TX9 has that is worth a mention is that it can produce 3D sweep panoramas. To shoot these you sweep the camera round in an arc. There is also a 3D multi angle sweep. To get the most out of these features you will need a 3D television for playback.

The Cybershot DSC TX9 also has an advanced movie mode. It can capture High Definition movies at a maximum resolution of 1080i.
