The Sony DSC H10 is a super zoom digital camera. It has 8 megapixels and a 10x optical zoom lens. Super zoom digital cameras tend to come in two different types. In one group they have extra long lenses offering between 15x and 20x zoom, are large and heavy and include a wide array of controls. The DSC H10 falls into the second group. These are almost cut down versions of the first group. They tend to have shorter lenses, a few less controls and features and are also smaller and more compact. In terms of weight, at 264g without a memory card or battery, this camera is almost 150g lighter than the next camera up in this series the Sony DSC H50.
The DSC H10 still includes image stabilisation and controls that allow you to change settings such as white balance and ISO. It also has a good sized LCD screen, but it does not have a viewfinder.
