The Samsung ST550 has an LCD screen on the front of the camera as well as on the back. It is primarily for when you are taking portrait shots or self portrait photos. This gives the subject the opportunity to see how they will look in the photo before it is taken. Samsung has also included a children mode for the front LCD screen. When you select this mode the screen will show amusing pictures in an effort to make the child smile or look happy.
The ST550 includes a few of these innovations. On the whole I would say Samsung digital cameras offer more variety when it comes to features than any other brand I can think of. This gives you the chance to decide whether or not these are right for you.
For example there is a face recognition feature. Where this differs is that it can recognise up to 20 faces of your family and friends. Whenever one of these appears in the photo it will home in more on that face in terms of focusing. There is also a touch and tilt mechanism that can be used to activate certain features such as a slideshow or rotating a picture.
