The Samsung PL70 is a 12 megapixel camera. It is small enough to slip into most pockets. It has a 5x optical zoom lens. With a focal length of 28 – 140mm it has wide angle capabilities making it a good choice for landscapes and groups of people. Image stabilisation has been built into the camera to reduce any blur caused by unsteady hands.
Samsung has included a High Definition movie mode with the PL70.
On the back of the camera you will find a 3 inch LCD screen for composing photos and accessing the menu system. There is a generous 76mb of storage built into the PL70 for storing your first photos. This capacity can also provide you with a modest back up space if you find your memory card is full. The camera is also compatible with SD and SDHC memory cards.
Accidental deletion of photos can be a problem, but the inclusion of a recycling bit affords you another level of safety.
A smart album feature is included too. This helps you to organise and search through photos on your memory card. For close up work the macro mode can focus from 5cm. You can also opt to use the PL70 as a voice recorder.
