The Samsung NV9 looks different to other cameras in this series. This model is smaller and more compact with an integral lens. The NV9 has 10 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens.

As well as standard point and shoot features the NV9 can be used as a voice recorder, MP3 / portable media player and text viewer. Among the more usual features are image stabilisation and a movie mode.

For portrait shots there is a beauty mode. This softens skin, removes blemishes, imperfections and dark spots. I will be very interested to see if it works on me!

Another different feature that may come in handy is the introduction of a recycling bin. If you turn this feature on photos are not truly deleted until you erase the memory card. So if you accidentally delete a photo it can be retrieved from the bin.

The NV9 comes in black, pink and silver and has a 2.7 inch LCD screen.
