The big attraction of the Pentax X90 is its 26x optical zoom lens. The lens has wide angle capabilities. This gives it the flexibility to capture wide scenes as well as being able to home in on more distant subjects. Image stabilisation has been built into the camera sensor.
For the more serious photographer Pentax have equipped with X90 with a set of manual exposure controls. As well as fully manual operation you also get access to aperture priority and shutter priority settings.
For composing images you have the choice between a 2.7 inch LCD screen and an electronic viewfinder. The viewfinder has dioptre correction so you can adjust focusing to suit your own eyesight.
If you need to fire off a rapid burst of photos there is a burst mode available. By reducing the number of megapixels available to 5 you can shoot at up to 11 frames per second.
Pentax equips many of its digital cameras with compatibility with Eye-Fi memory cards. When you use an Eye-Fi card the X90 has easier connectivity to a computer.
