The Pentax Optio WS80 is a waterproof digital camera. It can be used in water to depths of 1.5m for up to two hours at a time. The fact it is waterproof also means it can be used outside when it is raining.
Aside from its waterproof properties the Optio WS80 works in a similar way to a standard point and shoot digital camera. Key features include 10 megapixels and a 5x optical zoom lens. It is also capable of shooting High Definition mode clips. This opens up the possibility of the occasional underwater movie.
Pentax has equipped the camera with some digital filters for when you would like to be a little more creative with your photography. On top of this features such as face detection are available to ensure sharper portraits with the correct exposure settings.
Power is supplied through a rechargeable, lithium ion battery. Pentax supplies both a battery and charger as standard with the Optio WS80.
If you are concerned about the possibility of accidental deletion of photos you will be pleased to know the Optio WS80 has a built in safeguard to protect against this. The camera is compatible with SD and SDHC memory cards.
