The Pentax Optio W60 is one of the few waterproof digital cameras. As it is waterproof to a depth of 4m this is more of a camera for use around a swimming pool or on the beach rather than a digital camera you can go diving with. It is also cold proof to -10 degrees centigrade making it an option for winter holidays.

Other attractive features include a movie mode than can capture High Definition quality movies.

The Optio W60 has 10 megapixels and a 5x optical zoom lens. The lens has wide angle capabilities. This can come in handy for wide landscapes, groups of people, buildings and interiors. For composing photos there is a 2.5 inch LCD screen.

There is also a macro mode that allows you to get in as close as 1cm from your subject.

All in all the Optio W60 is a point and shoot camera that you should soon be able to get to grips with. It is available in black, silver and red.
