Pentax Optio P70

At just over 21mm wide the Pentax Optio P70 will slip easily into a pocket. It comes in three different colours – silver, light blue and pink. It has 12 megapixels and a 4x optical zoom lens. As digital cameras are packed with more and more megapixels it is becoming common to see a feature that allows you to increase the amount of zoom available if you reduce the resolution you are shooting at to a lower number of megapixels. In this case Pentax calls the feature intelligent zoom. It can boost the amount of zoom available with the Optio P70 to a maximum of 25x.

Other features of interest include a 2.7 inch LCD screen. There is also a very useful image recovery feature. This feature attempts to recover lost or deleted images. This could come in very handy if you accidentally delete your latest holiday snaps. As is now becoming more commonplace there is also a feature that attempts to clean up any red eye in a portrait shot taken using flash.
