The Pentax Optio E70 is designed with ease of use firmly in mind. Key buttons and controls such as the shutter button have been made a larger size than is standard for a digital camera. This helps to make operation easier, especially for anyone with larger hands. You will also find the icons used in the menu system are larger too.

The Optio E70 has a fairly basic set of functions and features. This helps to keep the price of the camera low. This is another factor that helps to make the menu system straightforward as there are fewer options to search through when you are looking to change a control.

Power is supplied by two AA batteries. Images can either be stored in the internal memory (Pentax has built in 34mb) or on SD or SDHC memory cards. Memory cards need to be purchased separately.

Key features include a 10 megapixel sensor and a 3x optical zoom. Pentax has added a feature called intelligent zoom to the Optio E70. This feature increases zoom to a maximum of 17.1x.
