The Pentax Optio E50 is an entry level digital camera. As with other digital cameras of this type the Optio E50 has two main attractions. To start with it is one of the cheapest digital cameras you will find from a known brand. Secondly it is very easy to use.
A large part of the reason why cameras like the Optio E50 are so easy to use is because they only come with a basic set of features. Another upside of this is that if all you are looking for is a simple point and shoot camera you will not end up paying for features you are unlikely to use.
The Optio E50 has 8 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens. One of the features it does have is face detection. This helps to produce sharply focused portrait shots that are also correctly exposed. The Optio E50 is available in black and silver and although compact in size it is on the large side for squeezing into a pocket.
