The Panasonic Lumix DMC S3 is a simple, straightforward digital camera. Panasonic are specifically aiming this camera at you if you are new to digital cameras or find it difficult to find your way around one. It has a fully automatic mode where the Lumix DMC S3 makes all the key decisions leaving you to point the camera and take a picture.
For a starter camera the Lumix DMC S3 has an impressive set of features. These include 14 megapixels, a 4x zoom lens and a 2.7 inch LCD screen. The amount of zoom available for you to use can be increased if you reduce the number of megapixels you are shooting at. A maximum of 8.4x zoom is available if you take pictures at a resolution of 3 megapixels. That should still allow you to make small, snapshot sized prints. The Lumix DMC S3 is also capable of shooting High Definition movies.
The Lumix DMC S3 is small enough to slip into more or less any pocket. It is a shade less than 21mm wide and is a lightweight 117g when loaded with a memory card and battery. It is available in five different colours; black, silver, red, purple and violet.
