The Panasonic DMC LZ8 offers a fairly cheap option for anyone who is looking for a digital camera with some manual exposure controls, but is not looking to spend a great deal of money. The manual controls (fully manual, aperture priority and shutter priority) give you some extra control over the way your photos will look.
You do not have to use these features and the DMC LZ8 can be used as a fully automatic, point and shoot camera if you would prefer to leave all the key decisions up to the camera itself.
There is also a small amount of extra zoom when compared with other similar cameras. This model has 5x zoom. Every little helps in this area and you will find you can get in that bit closer to the subject for a shot.
The movie mode is capable of shooting movies for payback on widescreen televisions.
Power is supplied by two AA batteries.
