Panasonic DMC LX5

The Panasonic Lumix DMC LX5 is a highly advanced digital camera. This type of camera is often used as a back up to a Digital SLR when carrying a larger camera is not practical. Panasonic has equipped the Lumix DMC LX5 with a wide range of advanced features allowing you to fine tune the way your photos look. I also like the way the camera handles.

One of the biggest attractions is likely to be the large aperture. At f/2 the Lumix DMC LX5 is able to let plenty of light in when taking a shot. This means the camera is able to cope well in lowlight situations.

There is a full set of manual exposure controls as well as a manual focusing option. You also have a facility that allows you to store your favourite shooting settings through two custom modes.

On top of the Lumix DMC LX5 is a hot shoe. Not only can this be used for attaching an external flash unit you can also plug in an optical viewfinder. To further enhance the camera there is a filter ring available. This can be used to add on accessories such as conversion lenses and filters via a lens adapter.

A 24mm lens with 3.8x zoom does not give you a great deal of zoom power, but the amount of zoom available can be increased to a maximum of 6.7x when shooting at lower resolutions. Panasonic also offers an intelligent zoom option to boost to 5x.
