The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ45 is a super zoom digital camera. It has a 24x optical zoom lens. The 24 – 600mm focal length means that as well as plenty of telephoto power for zooming in on a distant subject the Lumix DMC FZ45 has enough flexibility to also capture sweeping landscape scenes. If you need more zoom, Panasonic have included a feature called Extra Zoom on the Lumix DMC FZ45. This means more zoom becomes available on a sliding scale as you decrease the number of megapixels you are shooting at. At 3 megapixels the maximum 50.6x zoom becomes available.
In addition to all that zoom power the Lumix DMC FZ45 has a range of manual exposure controls to appeal to the more serious photographer. Manual focusing is available too. If you prefer the zoom power but with simpler operation you can always switch the Lumix DMC FZ45 to Automatic mode.
With this length of lens and weight of camera image stabilisation can be a big help when handholding your camera. A macro mode with zoom that can focus from 1cm from your subject gets this camera another tick in the box. An electronic viewfinder has been added in case you prefer to use a viewfinder than the LCD screen for composing your photos.
As with most super zoom digital cameras High Definition movies can be captured. Panasonic have equipped this camera with the ability to record sound in stereo.
