The Panasonic DMC FZ28 continues the trend of digital cameras with extra long zoom lenses. This model offers 18x zoom. At the other end of the spectrum the lens also has wide angle capabilities. This gives you the flexibility to shoot subjects such as landscapes and interiors as well as being able to zoom in on more distant subjects such as sports and wildlife.
As is the norm with this type of camera the DMC FZ28 has a selection of manual exposure controls as well as other more advanced controls such as bracketing, a high speed burst mode, RAW capture and manual focusing. Other features include image stabilisation. This is especially useful for any camera with such a long zoom lens. The camera is also capable of shooting HD quality movie footage. In order to playback footage on an HD television you will need to buy a separate cable.
In terms of design the DMC FZ28 resembles a smaller Digital SLR. I would also suggest buying a good quality case for transporting the camera.
