The Panasonic Lumix DMC FX70 is a pocket sized digital camera with a touch controlled LCD screen. Looking through the features this camera has it is a fairly typical pocket camera aside from the touch screen functionality. The build quality looks good and give the impression the Lumix DMC FX70 is a well made camera.
Having a touch screen tends to make some operations easier, but whether or not you find this type of interface easier to use than a more traditional button controlled digital camera depends on your own viewpoint.
Aside from the screen key features include 14 megapixels and a 5x optical zoom lens. That is more than enough megapixels for most print purposes, but the high number does give you added flexibility to either crop your photos or use a feature Panasonic call extra zoom. Extra zoom is where more zoom becomes available as you decrease the number of pixels you shoot at. This works on a sliding scale with maximum zoom being achieved as you go below 3 megapixels. At that point you have access to 10.5x zoom.
Other features include a large f/2.2 maximum aperture, High Definition movies and image stabilisation. The LCD screen is 3 inches in size. For close up work the Lumix DMC FX70 is able to focus from 3cm away from the subject.
