The Panasonic DMC FX500 is the most advanced pocket sized digital camera on the market. It comes with a surprising number of features. These include a selection of manual exposure modes (fully manual, aperture priority, shutter priority), image stabilisation and a wide angle lens for shooting landscapes, groups of people, interiors and buildings).

As with a number of other cameras in the Panasonic range the DMC FX500 is also able shoot movies that can be played back on an HD television.

Other features include the ability to adjust levels of sharpness, saturation, contrast and noise. Whenever red eye appears in portrait shots taken using flash there is a red eye correction feature that will attempt to clean up and remove the red eye from the photo.

The LCD has a high angle mode that makes it easier to see when you are shooting over the top of a crowd and you need to hold the camera above eye level. A number of features are also touch controlled through the LCD screen.
