The Panasonic Lumix DMC FS30 is a smaller digital camera offering more zoom power than most models of a similar size. Panasonic has equipped the Lumix DMC FS30 with an 8x zoom lens. The power of the lens can be further enhanced when shooting at lower resolutions. For example if you decrease the number of megapixels you are using to 3 then the zoom extends to a maximum of 16.9x.
Like other Panasonic digital cameras the Lumix DMC FS30 includes a High Angle mode. This means that if you need to hold the camera above eyelevel in order to take a picture you are still able to view the scene on the LCD screen. The LCD screen is 2.7 inches in size.
This type of camera is quite straightforward to use, but the Lumix DMC FS30 does include some extra features over more basic point and shoot models. These include the ability to shoot High Definition movies. Image stabilisation is available to for helping to keep any picture blur to a minimum.
At nearly 28mm wide the camera cannot really be described as ultra slim, but it is still small enough to slip into a good sized pocket.
