The Panasonic Lumix DMC FP1 is a slim digital camera that will fit into a pocket. It has 12 megapixels and a 4x zoom lens. The lens is situated in the top left hand corner of the camera. It is an integral lens. In other words it does not protrude from the camera when the camera is turned on. It remains flush to the camera body instead.
Sighting the lens in the top left hand corner immediately marks the Lumix DMC FP1 out as a little different to the majority of other digital cameras. I like the sliding lens design too. Aside from the lens cover the front of the camera is absolutely flat. Panasonic has produced four different colour versions. These are orange, blue, black and pink.
Probably the most noticeable features are the High Definition movie mode and a feature that allows you to increase the amount of zoom available when shooting at resolutions below the full 12 megapixels. A maximum of 7.8x zoom is available. This increases the flexibility offered by the Lumix DMC FP1 and means it is able to react to a range of different photo opportunities. Panasonic has also included image stabilisation to help control picture blur. The LCD screen is 2.7 inches in size.
