Olympus SP-590 UZ

The Olympus SP-590 UZ has one very obvious main attraction. That is the length of its zoom lens. At the time of its introduction (February 2009) the 26x optical zoom lens is the largest lens available on a compact digital camera. With a focal length equivalent to 26-676mm on a 35mm camera it has both wide angle and extreme telephoto capabilities.

The SP-590 UZ also has a full set of manual exposure controls including aperture priority and shutter priority. Manual focusing is available too. In super macro mode you can get in as close as 1cm from your subject.

When you take all the features into account you will be able to see that Olympus has aimed the SP-590 UZ at someone who sees photography as a serious hobby.

There is a high speed shooting mode. The maximum speed is 10 frames per second, but to access this you will need to reduce the resolution you are shooting at from the maximum 12 megapixels to 3 megapixels.
