Olympus SP-570 UZ

The Olympus SP-570 offers the longest lens currently available (at November 2008) on a compact digital camera with 20x zoom. What I really like about the lens is that the zoom is controlled through twisting the barrel of the lens instead of pressing buttons on the back of the camera. This helps to speed up the process and also gives you better control.

The lens has wide angle capabilities as well as the obvious telephoto qualities. This gives excellent versatility and the lens should cover just about every photo opportunity you can think of. Olympus has built image stabilisation into the camera to reduce the risk of blur being introduced to photos through camera shake.

As is common with super zoom cameras the SP-570 includes a number of advanced controls. These include fully manual exposure as well as aperture priority and shutter priority settings.

The SP-570 has a 2.7 inch LCD screen and a viewfinder for composing photos.
