The Olympus MJU Tough 3000 is the entry level model in Olympus robust digital camera range. Key statistics include being waterproof to depths of 3m and shockproof to drops of 1.5m. It is also freezeproof to temperatures down to -10 degrees centigrade.
When it comes to picture taking the MJU Tough 3000 falls into the simple point and shoot category, but there are quite a number of additional features built in by Olympus. These features include the ability to shoot High Definition movies. On top of this you can opt to recharge the battery by connecting the MJU Tough 3000 to a computer USB port. More standard features include 12 megapixels and a 3.6x wide angle lens.
Olympus has also added image stabilisation and a 2.7 inch LCD screen.
A change from older models in this series is the introduction of a large amount of internal storage (1GB) as well as a switch by Olympus to make the MJU Tough 3000 compatible with SD memory cards. As well as increasing storage size Olympus has included a feature that allows you to tag and group photos. This makes it much easier to find them at a later date.
