The Olympus MJU 550 WP is basically a simple, point and shoot digital camera that is also waterproof to a depth of 3m. This makes it a good choice for fun shots around the swimming pool.
Aside from the fact it is waterproof you get all the typical features you would expect on a more basic digital camera. The MJU 550 WP has 10 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens. It is available in three colours: black, blue and sky blue. For composing shots there is a 2.5 inch LCD screen.
With a body measuring 21.5mm wide the MJU 550 WP will happily slip into almost any pocket, so there is no problem carrying the camera with you ready for the next photo opportunity.
After you have taken a picture there is a Perfect Fix you can use to correct problems with lighting and red eye.
Power is supplied by a lithium ion battery. Images can be stored on either xD picture cards or MicroSD cards.
As with other digital cameras there are a number of pre programmed scene modes to help you take the best possible picture. These include an underwater snap mode. Face detection is also available for portrait shots.
