The Olympus FE-4050 is part of a small batch of cameras released by Olympus in autumn 2010 as additions to their simple and easy range. The main attraction of the cameras in this part of the Olympus range are the size, simplicity and price of the cameras.
In the case of the FE-4050 you have a camera that is less than 20mm wide. Therefore it should slip quite easily into more or less any pocket. Colours are the more traditional black and silver, plus slightly more daring red and white models.
The 4x zoom lens has a minimum focal length of 27mm. This gives it wide angle capabilities. This can help you to squeeze wider scenes into your photos. The LCD screen is a fairly standard 2.7 inches in size. Another feature worth a mention is the ability to charge the battery by attaching the FE-4050 to a computer via a USB cable. One compromise is when it comes to the movie mode as the FE-4050 is only capable of shooting standard definition movies.
