Overview

The Olympus E-PM1 is a small, lightweight compact system camera. It offers a range of advanced controls and is a good choice for the hobby photographer.

The E-PM1 has 12 megapixels. Olympus have built image stabilisation into the camera body. You have access to standard manual exposure controls such as Fully Manual, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority. Manual focusing is available as well. Other focusing options are based around a 35 point Auto Focus system and include AF tracking. Images can be stored in RAW format.

The E-PM1 has a metal body and is available in seven colours. These are brown, grey, silver, pink, white, black and purple. For when you need some extra help Olympus have added an in camera user guide. For composing photos there is a 3 inch LCD screen. The flash unit can be detached from the body when not in use. This helps to keep the size of the E-PM1 to a minimum.

Olympus have built in compatibility with Eye-Fi memory cards for transferring photos and movies to a computer. You can also buy a Bluetooth adapter for the E-PM1.

Shooting movies is taken care of with a movie mode that includes the ability to shoot High Definition movies. Stereo sound can be recorded.
