Overview
The Olympus E-P3 is a compact system camera. In terms of features it has a very similar set up to a Digital SLR, but it has a much smaller body size. Again as with a Digital SLR you are able to use different lenses, allowing you to select the ideal lens for the photo you are about to take.
The E-P3 has 12 megapixels. Controls and settings are accessed through a 3 inch OLED Touchscreen.
Focusing options include a 35 point Auto Focus system. Manual focusing is available too. Image stabilisation has been built into the camera body. More advanced controls include manual exposure controls (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority). These give you extra creative options for your photos. You can also choose to save your images in RAW format. This gives you greater scope for image adjustment if you are planning to enhance your photos through a package such as Photoshop.
Additional features include the ability to adjust levels of sharpness, contrast and saturation. There are also a set of Art Filters available to give your photos a different look. Among the range of filters are Pop Art, Soft Focus, Grainy Film and Pinhole. You can also shoot Full High Definition movies.
The E-P3 is compatible with Eye-Fi memory cards. This means you can transmit your photos to a Wi-Fi enabled computer.
