The Nikon Coolpix S8200 is a powerful, compact digital camera. Although it is small enough to fit into extra large pockets the Coolpix S8200 is on the large side compared with most digital cameras considered to be pocket sized.
It makes up for the larger size with features such as a 14x zoom lens. That is a powerful lens for a digital camera of this compactness. The lens also has wide angle capabilities. So as well as being able to zoom in on more distant scenes you can also zoom out to squeeze in wider vistas such as landscapes and buildings.
The Coolpix S8200 has 16 megapixels. That is more than enough for most needs. It has a 3 inch LCD screen. The screen differs to most cameras in that it has a higher resolution than standard and should therefore offer much greater clarity of viewing.
Other features worth a mention include the ability to capture action at up to five frames per second, a voice recorder and image stabilisation. A macro mode that can focus from 1cm away from your subject caters for most close up photography needs.
When you switch the Coolpix S8200 into movie mode it can capture Full High Definition movies.
Nikon have produced versions of the Coolpix S8200 in black, silver and red.
