The main attraction of the Nikon Coolpix S630 is likely to by its 7x optical zoom lens. This is longer than you normally find on such a small, compact digital camera. Nikon has included image stabilisation. This can make a difference to your photos especially when most of the zoom is being used and can lead to sharper photos.

The Coolpix S630 has a 12 megapixel sensor. With this number of pixels available you can make poster sized prints if you choose to or crop your photos for more dramatic effect and still make a small print.

High speed shooting is available at up to 13 frames per second, but you will need to shoot at a low resolution to take advantage of this feature.

For composing photos Nikon has included a 2.7 inch LCD screen. Power is supplied by a lithium ion rechargeable battery. Both a battery and charger are supplied with the Coolpix S630 as standard.
