The Nikon Coolpix P300 is a compact camera aimed at the serious photographer. This type of camera is likely to appeal to you if you are a looking for a second camera as an alternative to a Digital SLR. It is also likely to appeal to you would like a camera you can carry more of less anywhere with you that has an impressive set of features.

The main attractions of the Coolpix P300 include fully manual exposure, aperture priority mode, shutter priority mode and exposure bracketing. Nikon have equipped the Coolpix P300 with a large f/1.8 aperture. This will make a big difference to your shots in lowlight situations. It also offers you extra creativity by allowing you to use minimum depth of field in your shots. The lens has wide angle capabilities. Nikon have built in image stabilisation or vibration reduction to reduce any picture blur caused by movement of the camera when you are taking a shot.
