The Nikon Coolpix S70 takes touch screen control to a new a level. Every feature is controlled via touch, including zooming in and out on a subject. Other features such as focusing are also controlled in this way. After a picture has been taken and the Coolpix S70 has been placed in review mode touch control is used to scroll through the photos. You can even adjust the colour of a photo using a touch controlled slider. The screen is 3.5 inches in size.
More standard features include 12 megapixels and a 5x wide angle lens. Wide angle lenses appear to becoming increasingly common as we move towards the end of 2009. Image stabilisation is available to help reduce any blur that may be the result of camera shake.
When it comes to design the Coolpix S70 is a pocket sized camera, running on a lithium ion battery. The lens is protected by a sliding cover. Black, champagne/beige, champagne/light brown and red versions are available and the camera has a two tome look to it.
As is now becoming the norm, the Coolpix S70 also contains features for improving the look of portrait photographs. These include being able to soften skin and an automatic red eye removal feature.
