The Fuji Finepix F200EXR works in a different way to other digital cameras. Fuji has attempted to address two common problems with compact digital cameras. The first are noise levels in low light situations. The second is loss of detail where a scene has high levels of contrast or in other words lots of light areas and darker areas. To tackle these problems Fuji has changed the way the sensor works.

The sensor is set up with 12 megapixels. If you are photographing a standard scene in good light the Finepix F200EXR will use all 12 megapixels. When challenged by low light the sensor can be switched so that it becomes 6 megapixels. This increases the size of each pixel making them more sensitive for capturing detail. This reduces the amount of noise in the shot. For scenes with a high level of contrast the Finepix F200EXR splits the 12 megapixels into two groups of 6 megapixels. Each group performs a subtly different task to ensure greater detail is collected in the high and low light areas of the shot.

Aside from this technology you will find a 5x wide angle lens and a 3 inch LCD screen.
