Digital Camera Specifications

Looking through the specification details of a digital camera can give you useful pointers to finding one to match your requirements.

Each specification includes information such as megapixels, zoom, weight and dimensions.

The specifications list can be access by selecting a brand.

Nikon D700016 Megapixels Digital SLR

D7000

The D7000 is a mid range Digital SLR. Key features include the ability to capture still images at speeds of up to 6 frames per second for 100 images. The camera can also record Full High Definition movies with a maximum resolution of 1080p. You also have the option of adding a stereo microphone for recording sound. There is a 3 inch LCD screen in addition to the optical viewfinder. For focusing Nikon have equipped the D7000 with 39 Auto Focus points including 9 cross type points.

Panasonic DMC GX116 Megapixels Digital SLR

DMC GX1

The Lumix DMC GX1 offers manual exposure controls (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority), Full High Definition movies and the ability to store images in RAW format. There is a 3 inch LCD screen. The screen allows you to change some settings by touch. There is also the option to purchase a viewfinder. This is attached to the Lumix DMC GX1 via a hot shoe.

Panasonic DMC G316 Megapixels Digital SLR

DMC G3

The Lumix DMC G3 has a 3 inch LCD screen that pulls out away from the body and also twists around. The screen is touch sensitive allowing some settings to be changed via touching the screen. It has manual exposure controls, a viewfinder and images can be stored in RAW mode. There is a High Definition movie mode. Stereo sound can be recorded to accompany your movie clips.

Panasonic DMC GF312 Megapixels Digital SLR

DMC GF3

The Lumix DMC GF3 is a compact size even for a compact system camera. It has a set of manual exposure controls (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority) as well as the ability to store images in RAW format. Some settings can be accessed through a touch sensitive LCD screen. The Lumix DMC GF3 is also capable of recording High Definition movies.

Olympus E-PM112 Megapixels Digital SLR

E-PM1

The E-PM1 has image stabilisation, manual exposure controls and manual focusing. It also has a 35 point Auto Focus system and AF tracking. It can store photos in RAW format and has a 3 inch LCD screen. Your movie needs are catered for by the ability to shoot Full High Definition movies with stereo sound. Olympus E-PL312 Megapixels Digital SLR

E-PL3

The E-PL3 offers manual exposure controls (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority), manual focusing, image stabilisation and the ability to store images in RAW format. It has a metal finish and is available in silver, black, red and white. It is able to record Full High Definition movies with stereo sound. The 3 inch LCD screen tilts away from the body for when you find yourself in tricky shooting conditions.

Olympus E-P312 Megapixels Digital SLR

E-P3

The EP-3 has a range of manual controls (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority). It is touch screen operated through a 3 inch OLED screen. Image stabilisation has been built in and the camera is capable of shooting High Definition movies with stereo sound. There is a 35 point Auto Focus system and images can be stored in RAW mode. The E-P3 has a metal finish and is available in white, black and silver.

The TG-810 is waterproof to depths of 10m, shockproof to falls of 2m, crushproof to weights of 100kg and freezeproof to temperatures down to – 10 degrees centigrade. Olympus has also applied a scratch resistant coating to the TG-810. Olympus have added GPS tracking, an electronic compass, High Definition movies, image stabilisation and a 3D photo mode.

Olympus SZ-30MR16 Megapixels 24x Zoom

SZ-30MR

The SZ-30MR offers a 24x wide angle lens, image stabilisation, a 3 inch LCD screen, Full High Definition movies and the ability to capture action at up to 7 frames per second. It is also capable of producing 3D still photos and can be charged via a USB cable and computer. There is a smart panorama mode for creating panoramic shots.

SZ-20

The SZ-20 offers a fair amount of zoom in a relatively small body. Features include the ability to record Full High Definition movies, a 3 inch LCD screen, a macro mode that can focus from 1cm away from your subject and compatibility with Eye-Fi memory cards. You can also create 3D still photos and produce panoramic shots with the Smart Panorama mode.
