The Casio Exilim EX-Z280 is a little more advanced than other pocket cameras in this part of the Casio range. The features that help to lift this camera up to the next level include image stabilisation, High Definition movies (maximum resolution 1280 x 720 pixels at a rate of 24 frames per second), and a wide angle lens. With a minimum focal length of 26mm this is one of the wider aspects available from a pocket sized digital camera. This is likely to be attractive if you like to photograph wide scenes such as landscapes, buildings or groups of people.
For close up work there is a macro mode. When placed in this mode the Exilim EX-Z280 is able to focus from 5cm away from the subject. For composing your shots there is a 2.7 inch LCD screen. Buttons and dials on the back and top of the camera have been kept to a minimum. This means there are a few more items stored in the menu system than with most brands.
