The Canon Powershot A580 is an entry level digital camera. Despite its lower price tag this camera is still capable of producing good quality photos. It also has a slightly longer zoom lens than other entry level digital cameras.
Power is supplied by AA batteries and images are stored to either SD or the higher capacity SDHC cards.
For composing your photos Canon have provided the option of either a viewfinder or the 2.5 inch LCD screen.
For close up shots the Powershot A580 can focus from 5cm away from the subject. This is close in when compared with other entry level cameras. Other features include the ability to add 60 seconds of voice memo to still photos you have taken. The camera is also capable of shooting TV quality movies.
If you feel that flash needs a boost Canon have a special flash pack available that can be bought separately.
