The Canon Powershot A1200 is a straightforward digital camera. It runs on two AA batteries and is simple to operate. It is a relatively inexpensive digital camera from a recognised brand If you are looking for a digital camera that has few frills, but can handle most snapshot opportunities then the Powershot A1200 may well appeal to you.
To help you if you are relatively new to digital photography Canon have included some hints and tips. These are available through the menu system. They may not answer all your questions, but they will point you in the right direction and help you get more from your camera.
Looking through the features the LCD screen is 2.7 inches in size. The 4x zoom lens has a minimum focal length of 28mm. This means you have a bit of extra scope for squeezing in wider scenes. The 12 megapixels on offer are more than enough for your snapshot sized prints.
One of the most noticeable differences between the Powershot A1200 and other cameras at this level is the fact Canon have included a viewfinder. These are becoming increasingly hard to find at the lower end of the market.
There is a macro mode that allows you to get within 3cm of your subject. Video clips are catered for with a High Definition movie mode.
