The Canon EOS M is the first Compact System Camera from Canon. It gives you a similar set of controls and picture quality to a DSLR, but in a smaller body.
Key features include 18 megapixels and a 3 inch LCD screen. The screen has some touch control functions such as being able to set the focusing point. Canon have equipped the EOS M with a set of manual exposure controls (Fully Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority). It can shoot short bursts of images at a rate of 4.3 frames per second. Images can be stored in RAW format as well as Jpegs.
There is a hot shoe available. This enhances your flash options as it gives you the ability to use an external flash unit. Four types of metering are available to help you get the perfect exposure. These are multi point, spot, centre weighted and partial.
The EOS M is capable of shooting High Definition Movies.
This camera is compatible with EOS M lenses. This is a fairly limited range of lenses. To increase the options available you can buy a lenses adapter that gives you compatibility with the much wider range of Canon EF and EF-S lenses.
