Overview
The Canon EOS 60D is a mid range Digital SLR. The EOS 60D is aimed at the serious amateur or semi professional photographer.
Features include 18 megapixels and a 9 point cross type AF system. It has a 3 inch LCD screen. The screen is vari angle. This means it can pull out away from the body and twist round. This can be a big help to you if you are shooting at awkward angles.
High speed shooting is catered for by a burst mode that is capable of shooting at speeds of up to 5.3 frames per second for up to 58 jpegs. As you would expect there are a full set of manual exposure controls. ISO can be set between 100 and 6400. It is also expandable to 12,800.
The EOS 60D can also be used to record video clips. It is capable of shooting Full High Definition movies. Fully manual exposure is available in movie mode.
If you are looking for some extra creativity options Canon has built in some digital filters. These include Grainy B/W, Soft Focus, Toy Camera Effect and Miniature Effect. You can achieve a different look for your photos by using picture styles such as vivid, soft, warm or monochrome. There are also predefined scene types available. These are for Portrait, Landscape, Close-Up, Sport and Night Snapshot.
Options are available for wireless transmission for images as the EOS 60D includes Eye-Fi connected functions.
In camera RAW processing allows you to adjust settings such as white balance or correct distortion or chromatic aberration.
