Overview
The Canon EOS-1D X is a highly advanced Digital SLR. It is aimed at top level, professional photographers. The EOS-1D X is a full frame camera. It has 18 megapixels.
As you would expect it has a wide range of manual exposure controls. In fact it is hard to beat when it comes to you taking ultimate control over the way your photographs look.
The EOS-1D X has a high speed mode that can capture shots at 12 frames per second. In this mode you can take up to 120 jpg shots or 36 shots if you are using RAW mode. For storing photos the EOS-1D X is able to store both RAW and Jpg files simultaneously. You also have the ability to direct one file type to one memory card and another type to a different card.
Low light photography is catered for by ISO settings of up to 512,000. There is also a High ISO setting of 204,800 available. For pinpoint focusing control you have access to a 61 point Auto Focus. Shutter speeds work in the range of 30 – 1/8000 seconds. There is also a bulb mode for longer exposures.
Photographs can be composed through a 3.2 inch LCD screen using Live View or through the viewfinder. Depth of field preview is available too.
You can also use the EOS-1D X to shoot High Definition movies with a maximum resolution of 1080i.
For fast uploading of images to your PC, Canon have equipped the EOS-1D X with an Ethernet port.
