The Sony Cybershot DSC WX1 is 10 megapixel digital camera with an extra wide 5x optical zoom lens. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 24 - 120mm in 35mm format. The amount of zoom available can be increased when shooting at lower resolutions. The maximum amount of zoom is 28x zoom. 2x digital zoom is also available.

As well as these fairly standard features there is a burst mode that can shoot at up to 10 frames per second. This is great for capturing fast moving subjects. You also have access to a sweep panorama mode for landscapes and cityscapes. On top of this you can shoot high definition movies.

There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: High Sensitivity, Soft Snap, Landscape, Twilight Portrait, Twilight, Gourmet, Pet, Beach, Snow, Fireworks and Underwater.

You can shoot High Definition movies with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and zoom can be applied during shooting.
