Sony DSC W90 Features
The Sony DSC W90 has eight megapixels and a three times zoom lens. Zoom can be extended using smart zoom when shooting at lower resolutions. Up to 5.1x HD smart zoom is available or 15x standard smart zoom. 6x digital zoom is available too.
The zoom lens has a focal length equivalent to 35 -105mm in 35mm format. The maximum aperture is f2.8 - 5.2.

Focusing
For close up shots the DSC W90 can focus from 4cm away from the subject. Face detection software is included to help produce sharper portrait shots.
LCD
The 2.5 inch LCD screen is made up of around 115,000 dots. There is also a small viewfinder.
Flash
The maximum range of the built in flash unit is 3.3m. This falls to 1.8m when the zoom lens is in use. Flash modes are Auto, Forced Flash, Slow Syncro and No Flash. Red eye reduction is also available.
Scene Modes
There are a small number of predefined scene modes. These are: Twilight, Twilight portrait, Soft snap, Landscape, Beach, Snow and High Sensitivity. When you select a scene mode the camera uses what it considers to be the optimum settings to get the best possible shot.
Movies
The maximum resolution for a movie is 640 x 480 pixels. The top speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded. Zoom can be applied before the recording starts, but not while recording is in progress.
Advanced Features
Among the more advanced feature are Exposure Compensation (+/- 2.0EV, 1/ 3 EV step), White Balance (Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent1,Fluorescent2,Fluorescent3, Incandescent, Flash), metering (Multi Pattern, Centre weighted, Spot) and ISO sensitivity (Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800,1600,3200).
A burst mode allows you to fire off around 100 shots in quick succession.
Shutter speeds are under the control of the camera and work in the range ΒΌ - 1/1600.
Computer - Printers - Television
All the necessary cables and software are supplied for television playback, attaching the camera to a computer and printing through a compatible printer. A cable is available to buy for showing photos on a high definition television.
