The Sony Cybershot DSC TX1 has 10 megapixels and a 4x optical zoom lens. If you reduce the resolution you are shooting at more zoom becomes available. There is a maximum of 22x zoom you can use. 2x digital zoom is a further option.
The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 35 - 140mm in 35mm format.
Features to lookout for include a sweep panorama mode, a Handheld Twilight mode, High Definition Movies, a 10 frames per second burst mode, 3 inch touch controlled LCD screen and image stabilisation.
A Party Dock is also available. If you place the Cybershot DSC TX1 in the dock it will automatically fire off pictures for you.
The LCD monitor is 3 inches in size. The screen is made up of around 230,400 dots and is touch controlled.

You can shoot High Definition movies with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and zoom can be applied during shooting.
