Megapixels and Zoom
The Sony DSC T200 is an 8 megapixel digital camera. It has a 5x optical zoom lens. Extra zoom is available if you shoot at lower resolutions through a maximum of 25x smart zoom. 10x digital zoom is available too.
The maximum aperture is f3.5 - f4.4. The focal length is equivalent to 35 - 175mm in 35mm format.

Focusing
Face detection focusing is available. This homes in to produces sharply focused faces. In super macro mode the DSC T200 can focus from 1cm away from the subject. You can also set the focusing distance in manual focusing mode.
LCD
The touch LCD screen is 3.5 inches in size and is made up of around 230,000 pixels. There is no room for an LCD screen.
Flash
The flash modes you can use are automatic, on, off and slow synchro. Red eye reduction can also be turned on. The flash works up to a maximum distance of 3.7m and falls to 2.9m when the zoom lens is in use. You can also adjust the flash intensity.
Scene Modes
The scene modes available are Twilight, Twilight portrait, Soft snap, Landscape, Beach, Snow, Fireworks, High speed shutter, High Sensitivity and Smile shutter.
Extras
A special setting enables the DSC T200 to detect if someone is smiling. If they are the camera will fire off a quick photo without the need for you to press the shutter button.
Output for HD TV (with optional cable).
In-camera retouching after a photo has been taken. This includes a tool to remove red eye.
Movies
You can shoot movies with sound up to the capacity of the memory card. The maximum resolution is 640 x 480 pixels and the top speed is 30 frames per second. You can zoom in and out while recording is in progress.
Advanced Features
Advanced features include exposure compensation (+/- 2.0EV, 1/ 3 EV step), white balance (Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent1, Fluorescent2,Fluorescent3,Incandescent, Flash), sensitivity (Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200), bracketing (+/-0.3 - +-1) and a burst mode (up to 100 shots).
Shutter speeds are set automatically by the camera in the range ΒΌ to 1/1000 seconds.
Computer - Printers - Television
All the necessary cables and software are supplied to attach the Sony DSC T200 to a computer, television set and compatible printer.
