Samsung ES17 Features
The Samsung ES17 is a simple 12 megapixel digital camera. It has a 3x optical zoom lens. The lens has a focal length equivalent to 35 - 105mm in 35mm format. There is also 3x digital zoom available.
As this is one of the cheaper digital camera the features available are not surprisingly less than you would find on more expensive models. Even so Samsung has added features that let you adjust settings such as sharpness, contrast and saturation. Other features include a 2.5 inch LCD screen, a macro mode that can focus from 10cm away from the subject and standard definition movies.

LCD
The LCD screen is 2.5 inches in size. It is made up of around 230,000 pixels.
Flash
The flash modes available are Auto, Auto & Red-eye reduction, Fill-in flash, Slow sync, Flash off, Red-eye fix. Flash works to a maximum distance of 3.8m when the zoom is not being used and 2.1m when zoom is fully extended.
Scene Modes
You can access the following scene modes: Beauty Shot, Potrait, Night scene, Children, Landscape, Text, Close-up, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow
Movies
The maximum resolution is 640 x 480 pixels with a top speed of 30 frames per second. You can zoom in and out while recording the movie. Sound is not recorded while zooming.
