Samsung Digimax L74 Features
The Samsung Digimax L74 is a seven megapixel camera with a 3.6x wide angle, optical zoom lens. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 28 - 101mm in 35mm format. The lens aperture is F2.8- 5.6. 5x digital zoom is also available.

Focusing
For close up shots the Digimax L74 can focus from 5cm away from the subject. Face recognition focusing is also available.
LCD
The LCD screen is 3 inches in size and is made up of around 230,000 pixels. Menu options are controlled by touching the LCD screen.
Flash
The flash modes are Auto, Auto & Red-eye reduction, Fill-in flash, Slow sync, Flash off and Red eye fix. The maximum range of the flash is 5m. This falls to 2.4m when the zoom lens is fully extended.
Scene Modes
The scene modes available are Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Text, Close-up, Sunset,
Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow, Self shot, Café and Food. Selecting a scene mode give the Digimax L74 a little extra help when it is choosing the correct settings for the shot.
Playback
After a photo has been taken you can add colour filters (BW, Sepia, Red, Blue, Green, Negative, Custom Color). You can also add a colour mask where most of the photo is turned to black and white.
Levels of brightness, contrast and saturation can be adjusted and there is a red eye fix available.
There are also a range of fun effects. These allow you to create a cartoon speech bubble, write on the photo, add a photo frame and make composite photos. You can even apply some supplied cartoon like stickers to a photo or add noise if you wish to.
Movies
You can shoot wide screen movies (resolution 800 x 592 pixels) at a rate of 20 frames per second. You may notice a bit of flicker at that speed. Non widescreen movies can be recorded at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and with a top speed of 30 frames per second.
Zoom can be used while recording and movies can have sound.
Advanced Features
Advanced features include metering (Multi, Spot, Center Weighted, Face Recognition), exposure compensation (±2EV (1/3EV steps)), ISO sensitivity (Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600), white balance Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent_H, Fluorescent_L, Tungsten, Custom) and continuous shooting.
Shutter speeds are controlled by the camera. These work in the range 16 - 1/1100 seconds.

All the necessary cables and software are provided to connect the Samsung Digimax L74 to a computer, television set and compatible computer.
