Pentax Optio E50 The Pentax Optio E50 is an 8 megapixel digital camera. It has a 3x optical zoom lens. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 37.5 - 112.5mm in 35mm mode.

LCD Screen

The LCD monitor is 2.4 inches in size. The screen is made up of around 110,000 dots.

Flash Range and Settings

The flash modes are automatic, on, off, automatic with red eye reduction and on with red eye reduction. The range of the flash unit is 6m when the zoom is not in use, falling to 3.2m when the zoom is fully extended.

Scene Modes

There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: Night Scene, Landscape, Flower, Portrait, Surf & Snow, Sport, Kids and Pet.

Movies

You can shoot movies with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and zoom can be applied before shooting starts.

Verdict:This is a cheap digital camera, but I'm not convinced there is a great deal of value for money. My tests photos suffered from noise and a general lack of clarity and sharpness. There are other cheaper cameras out there that I would much prefer over this one.
